Shedrub Development Fund (SDF) was established by Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche in 2005 to support his monasteries and nunneries in Nepal. To date SDF has supported more than 60 projects, providing over $5,000,000 in funding for a wide range of humanitarian efforts and in support of preserving and perpetuating the wisdom of the Buddha’s teachings.
In August 2023, the Pema Chodron Foundation awarded Shedrub Development Fund (SDF) a $300,000 challenge grant to be used for the construction of a new three-year retreat facility for the nuns at Nagi Gompa.
To access these funds, we must meet the challenge goal by raising $200,000. We are getting there, but there is still a long way to go.
The main focus of study and practice at Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling is ensuring that the Buddha’s precious heritage of kindness and wisdom becomes embedded in the minds and hearts of all participants.

Isn’t the presence of the Buddha’s teachings in our world extremely precious? How can we best preserve the Buddhist doctrine? This is what I’ve asked myself again and again—how can we secure the Buddhadharma for future generations? Who can perfectly maintain and uphold the teachings?

Be calm, kind, and clear. This is the most valuable thing we human beings can learn, train in and master. To be happy and live in harmony, liberate our minds and free others, this is my deep wish. This is why I take care of monks and nuns. This is why I share the precious teachings with people from all countries.
